Working language

The meeting will be held in English, which is the Working Group’s official language. Upon request, the organizing committee can provide you with information regarding a service for interpretation into another language. Please be aware that such costs will not be covered by the organizing committee.

Accommodation

Transportation services

Airport – Hotel – Airport

The office of The Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru will provide the participants with a transportation service from the Lima City International Airport to the venue hotel. Upon your arrival at the airport and immediately after the customs clearance point, a member of the organizing committee will be waiting for you. To facilitate his/her identification, SAI staff will be carrying a sign with the logo of the INTOSAI:

On the day of your departure, transportation from the venue hotel to the airport will be available for you. The organizing committee will hand you in a brief note with the information required (date, time and meeting point) to take you to the airport. In this regard, you should bear in mind that the Lima City International Airport’s regulations state that passengers travelling on international flights must be at the airline counter three hours prior to the flight time. When preparing for your departure, also take into account that it takes up to one hour to get to the airport from the venue hotel.

The breakfast buffet is included in the room rate and will be available for participants to the meeting at the restaurant Le Café at Swissotel Lima. During the working sessions (July 3rd and 4th), lunch for participants will be offered in Paracas II.

You may use either your debit or your credit card when paying at the venue hotel, restaurants, bars, department stores and grocery stores, but most transactions in Peru are done with change, particularly when using public transportation and buying handicrafts, souvenirs, beverages, food or any personal care items at local markets, small grocery stores and local markets.

We recommend that you bring dollars or Euros, which you can exchange for local money without problems at the airport, hotel, banks or exchange places.

Weather conditions

Lima's proximity to the cool waters of the Pacific Ocean leads to temperatures much cooler than those expected for a subtropical desert and can be classified as a cool desert climate. It is neither cold nor very hot. Temperatures rarely fall below 12°C (54 °F) or rise above 29°C (84 °F) at any time during the year.

You will arrive in Lima during the winter (June to October). The historical average temperature in July is between 14°C and 19°C. Winter temperatures in Lima do not vary much between day and night; however, there is high humidity, particularly in the mornings. It is important to bring some items of warm clothing to protect you from the cold, particularly when you go outside the hotel.

Voltage information

Peruvian´s voltage is 220-240 volts at a frequency of 60Hz.
