Message of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru
We would like to welcome the delegations for the 6th Meeting of the Working Group on the Value and Benefits of SAIs, being held here in the capital of Peru, where 42 years ago, the Lima Declaration was signed.
After achieving the long desired autonomy, essential principle that was first granted to us by the people who chose to live in democracy, now is time to bring our institutions’ value and benefits to our citizens through our actions.
These days of intense work will consolidate the challenging aspirations that every Supreme Audit Institution encompasses: to be in tune with the demands of our societies; to strengthen and legitimize our institutions; and to prevail as effective and trustable institutions when facing intense social changes.
I’m sure that this interaction and exchange of experiences will lead us to find new, creative and innovative ideas towards our objectives.
As Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, I wish the participants a pleasant and productive stay in Lima.
